Chapter 177: The Unexpected Reunion
“Did you say you saw Stellan Storm?” Joe couldn’t believe it. “I’ve been searching for her everywhere and couldn’t find her. How did you come across her?”
Marigold’s face twisted with both fear and disbelief. “Guess who Stellan Storm is now? You’ll never believe it. Her name is now Galatea, and she’s the woman who’s always by Alaric’s side. The woman Alaric is planning to marry!”
“Stellan Storm is now Galatea?” Joe’s shock was palpable. “This is unbelievable.”
Marigold looked around nervously before lowering her voice. “And Caspian… he’s already under her spell. I can’t let him hear about this.”
Joe reassured her, “Caspian is already in bed. Don’t worry.”
Marigold exhaled in relief, but the shock still hadn’t worn off. Joe helped her sit down on the sofa.
“Joe,” she said, her voice shaking, “do you think Stellan Storm is trying to get back at me? Maybe she seduced Alaric first and is now planning to infiltrate the Knight family?”
“Mrs. Marigold, you’re overthinking this,” Joe replied gently. “I asked Aminta about it, and she said Stellan Storm recently came to inquire about you. It seems like she’s been looking for you, too. As for her being with Mr. Alaric Junior, that’s just a coincidence.”
“But I can’t shake this feeling,” Marigold said, a knot tightening in her stomach. “Stellan Storm may not know the truth yet, but once she does, if she marries Alaric and enters the Knight family, with both Alaric and Caspian backing her, she could easily take revenge on me.”
Joe paused, deep in thought, before responding, “But she’s not just Galatea, she’s Stellan Storm. Stellan Storm married Mr. Alaric Junior seven years ago, and that marriage is still legally valid. Technically, Stellan Storm is already Mrs. Knight.”
Marigold froze, her face paling. “No, no, you’re wrong! Stellan Storm died six years ago. Her marriage is void, and she is no longer Mrs. Knight. She’s Galatea now, and I will not accept Alaric marrying her!”
Joe sighed, his concern still visible. “You’re right, but both Mr. Alaric Junior and Mr. Knight Junior are determined to marry her. I fear you won’t be able to stop it.”
“Shut up!” Marigold snapped, cutting him off. “I’ll make sure this doesn’t happen!”
Joe, unwilling to argue further, fell silent. But after a moment, he spoke again. “Mrs. Marigold, regardless of whether Stellan Storm is Galatea or not, you’ve found the woman you’ve been searching for. This could mean finding your grandchildren as well.”
Marigold’s eyes widened, and a spark of realization lit up her face. “You’re right… After seeing Galatea, I’ve almost forgotten about the children. I know where they are now! We need to go find them!”
Her impatience was evident. Joe hurried to follow her as she rushed out. “Mrs. Marigold, slow down! Be careful!”
Meanwhile, Harry had just woken up when he learned that Marigold had returned, only to leave again. His mind was racing with worry.
He had been intending to ask Marigold about her meeting with Galatea, but now she was gone again. Had Marigold caused any trouble after meeting Galatea? Unable to call Galatea using Caspian’s identity, Harry quickly used the phone in the Knight family mansion to call Caspian. But no one answered.
Caspian should be in class, after all—he didn’t have an injury like Harry did, so he was likely at school. Feeling anxious, Harry called Alaric instead.
At that moment, Alaric was napping beside Galatea. Hearing the phone ring, he was careful not to disturb her. He silenced it quickly, relieved that Galatea hadn’t stirred. Though he considered hanging up, he saw that it was a call from the Knight family mansion, so he answered.
“Hello?”
“Did I disturb your sleep?” Harry asked, his voice teasing. “You’re not still in bed with mommy, are you?”
Alaric was momentarily taken aback. “Why… would you ask that?”
Harry pressed, “Just answer me, quick. Are you sleeping with her?”
Alaric hesitated, clearly uncomfortable. “Yes.”
Harry let out a relieved sigh. “Good then. No worries. I was just checking.”
Then, with an air of frustration, Harry added, “By the way, did you do the DNA test with Harry?”
Alaric’s response was calm, almost detached. “Got it.”
Harry rolled his eyes at his nonchalance. “Never mind, you just go back to your nap with mommy, forget everything I said. I’m just being annoying.”
“Be good at home. Call me if anything urgent comes up.”
“Okay, I won’t disturb you anymore.” Harry hung up, muttering to himself, “Got a wife and forgets about his son…”
With a sigh of relief, Harry settled back into bed, deciding that everything seemed fine. “I guess I’ll just wait for mommy to marry dad,” he said to himself, finally feeling more at ease.
Later that day, Marigold couldn’t wait to find Harry and Elisa. She learned where they went to school and headed there straight away. After reviewing Harry and Elisa’s files with the school principal, she couldn’t hold back her tears of joy.
“They’re my grandchildren!” she exclaimed. “And this boy, Harry, he looks exactly like my Caspian. There’s no doubt—this is my flesh and blood!”
Joe, standing beside her, smiled with happiness. “Congratulations, Mrs. Marigold. You’ve found your grandchildren. The Knight family bloodline continues!”
Marigold beamed, unable to contain her excitement. “Yes, after everything we’ve been through, all three of my treasures will be back soon. It’s a blessing from the gods!”
As they waited outside the school for the children to finish, Marigold’s anticipation grew. She knew that Harry and Elisa were among the students. She scanned the crowd, her eyes searching for her beloved grandchildren.
When school let out, Caspian stepped out of the building and checked his phone. He noticed a missed call from the Knight family mansion. He was puzzled—it should have been Harry, but Harry was in class. He wouldn’t have called at this time.
Suddenly, a voice rang out from the crowd.
“You must be Harry and Elisa! I can see you both clearly now. My Knight family children… truly outstanding!”
Caspian’s heart skipped a beat. He looked up, and his eyes locked with Marigold’s.
“Oh my god…” His heart raced. There, standing before him, was his stern, cold-faced grandmother. She had appeared out of nowhere!
